On July 4, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a criminal case after an unknown assailant with a knife attacked a traffic police officer in Nalchik.

It is noted that the punishment in the case is provided for under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers").
