The Russian Ambassador was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry

Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopyrkin was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, where he was handed a protest note due to "statements emanating from Russia regarding the latest internal political processes" in Armenia. The country's foreign ministry reported this on July 4 to the Radar Armenia portal.
It is noted that Yerevan conveyed through diplomatic channels its dissatisfaction with the assessments coming from Moscow.
"A strong protest has been expressed <...> against the rhetoric against the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the media of the Russian Federation, which fuels the statements of some officials," the ministry said.
On July 2, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Russia is sincerely interested in stability in Armenia. In this way, the diplomat commented on the charges brought against Samvel Karapetyan, a Russian businessman and head of the Tashir Group of companies, and Mikael Ajapakhyan, Archbishop of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), for publicly calling for the seizure of power in Armenia. Zakharova stressed that Russia stands for the preservation of the rule of law in Armenia "based on the Constitution" and ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens.
