The media reported on Trump's promise to help Kiev with air defense

US President Donald Trump said in a conversation with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky that he wants to help Kiev in the field of air defense. This was reported on July 4 by the Axios portal, citing sources.
"Trump said he wants to help with air defense and will check what has been suspended [following the Pentagon's decision to suspend military supplies to Ukraine]," the source said.
According to the newspaper, the phone conversation between the leaders lasted about 40 minutes.
An unnamed Ukrainian official added that Trump and Zelensky had agreed to meet teams from the United States and Ukraine to discuss the supply of air defense and other types of weapons. The White House has not yet commented on the information about the negotiations.
Earlier in the day, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid said that Trump had a telephone conversation with Zelensky. The journalist noted that, according to a source familiar with the situation, the conversation went well. The head of Zelensky's office, Andriy Ermak, confirmed the information about the talks and called the conversation very important and informative.
