The widespread attention to the "Scarlet Sails" in St. Petersburg, including among Russia's political opponents, speaks to the well-chosen narratives of the event. Natalia Zvorygina, the general producer of the concert part of the holiday, told Izvestia about this on July 4.

"So we were telling the story correctly. We are generally proud of this. The fact that we were able to tell the right story about the Victory this year and bring this idea to the graduates and the audience is something we are honestly proud of," she said.

Zvorygina recalled that this year "Scarlet Sails" broke the record for the number of viewers — more than 45 million people watched the holiday, compared to 37 million last year.

"I think the celebration has turned out well. A lot of things that we laid down, what we thought about, it seems to me, turned out even bigger and better than we imagined," she stressed.

According to the producer, the concert part of the celebration successfully combined performances by both young and experienced performers, who are again popular with young people, such as Nadezhda Kadysheva.

"What was happening there (during Kadysheva's speech. — Ed.), — this is a complete disgrace at the level of "how cool it is that such returns occur." The renaissance of our folk is great," Zvorygina said.

The Scarlet Sails Alumni Celebration took place in St. Petersburg on the night of June 29 and became one of the most discussed events of the week.

In 2005, the "Scarlet Sails" began to be held again after a long-term hiatus. The initiative to revive it was taken by Joint Stock Bank ROSSIYA, the Government of St. Petersburg and Channel Five.
