The Pobeda opposition bloc has strongly protested against the holding of a summit between Moldova and the European Union (EU). This was announced on Friday, July 4, in the Telegram channel of the block.

"Holding a summit in a country where the majority of people have spoken out against joining the EU is a direct disrespect for the will of the people," the message says.

Pobeda stressed that the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), under the slogans of European integration, has reduced the republic to poverty and "dictatorship", deprived residents of the right to neutrality and promotes the militarization of the country through foreign loans.

"Europe does not need a strong and independent Moldova. They need our land, a resource that cannot be replenished. We need another obedient vassal who does not have his own opinion," the bloc added.

The opposition also promised to continue the struggle for the independence of the country and the right of citizens to their own path of development.

Ilan Shor, the leader of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda, said on June 29 that under the guise of simplifying trade procedures with the EU, Moldova is gradually being absorbed and the country is being deprived of economic independence. According to him, as a result of the policy of the current authorities of the republic, the Moldovan economy is being destroyed, and the import of goods is rapidly increasing.
