The United Kingdom has commissioned an autonomous system for searching for sea mines

The new British Navy's autonomous SWEEP system for searching for naval mines will help the Royal Navy detect and neutralize mines of various types without endangering ship crews. Information about this was published on the official website of the British Navy on July 4.
It is noted that the new SWEEP system is based on an unmanned surface vessel controlled from a safe distance and designed to detect and neutralize modern digital naval mines that can be aimed at both ships and submarines.
"The return of the ability to remotely combat complex mines that are more difficult to detect using sonar is a major milestone in the development of the Royal Navy's mine action capabilities," said Dan Herridge, commander of the Royal Navy's Mine and Other Threat Intelligence Group.
According to the Belgian online publication Army Recognition Group. Three systems have been commissioned and several more are expected to be delivered as part of the Mine Hunting Capability Program.
On June 25, it became known that the United Kingdom plans to purchase 12 new F-35A fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear weapons from the United States. The acquired equipment will be used as part of the NATO mission to create dual-use aircraft and strengthen the alliance's military deterrence capabilities.
