FT predicted a possible confrontation between Turkey and Israel

The most dangerous consequence of the 12-day war between Israel and Iran may be the emergence of tougher competition between Turkey and Israel. This was reported on July 4 by the Financial Times newspaper.
"Ankara is unhappy with Israel's assertiveness and its bold new identity," the newspaper said.
It is noted that in Israel, some of the security forces are increasingly considering Turkey's regional influence as a long-term threat, "more dangerous than Iran." Tel Aviv opposes Ankara in other countries, such as Syria, where it supports the Syrian Kurds and Druze.
"US President Donald Trump should use his good relations with both Netanyahu and Erdogan to deal with this confrontation. <...> Washington and its allies should recognize that the next test for the Middle East could be the rivalry between Israel and Turkey," the publication concludes.
On June 25, Erdogan declared Turkey's readiness to confront Israel if necessary. According to him, Ankara will continue to speak out against the "oppression, evil and unbearable behavior" of Tel Aviv.
