Berlin announced intensive negotiations with the United States on the purchase of Patriot for Ukraine

Germany is in intensive negotiations to supply Ukraine with Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems from the United States. This was announced on July 4 by German government spokesman Stefan Cornelius.

When asked by reporters about possible negotiations between Germany and the United States on the issue of Patriot purchases to be sent to Ukraine, he said that there are "different ways" to meet Ukraine's air defense needs.

"I can say that intensive discussions are indeed underway on this issue," Bloomberg quoted Cornelius as saying.

Earlier that day, Bild newspaper learned about Germany's plans to conclude a deal with the United States on Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine. According to the publication, the corresponding request from Germany was sent several weeks ago at the initiative of Kiev after its unsuccessful attempts to conclude this deal on its own.
