FT learned about Tesla's huge losses due to Trump's election support

American billionaire Elon Musk invested more than $ 250 million in the election campaign of US President Donald Trump, and in return received something from which Tesla will lose billions. This was reported on July 4 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.
It is noted that Trump's "large—scale and brilliant bill" jeopardizes the most important source of profit for Tesla - the sale of emissions quotas.
The American leader's tax bill is aimed at repealing federal standards for "average corporate fuel economy" (Cafe). The program was created to punish automakers whose cars do not meet fuel efficiency requirements and to reward those whose cars do not produce harmful emissions by giving them "clean air credits" that can then be sold to gas-powered competitors to offset the fines, the article explains.
"If there is no penalty for fraud, then there is no point in buying certificates of conformity <...>. I am not sure how expensive these [changes] will be compared to the damage that Musk caused to Tesla by becoming a Trump henchman and a pariah," said Dan, director of the Safe Climate Transport company at the Center for Biological Diversity. Becker.
According to the FT, Tesla, due to Trump's bill, among other things, will lose a significant part of federal support and tax benefits for battery production, management of a network of charging stations for electric vehicles, production of solar tiles and commercial and household batteries.
"This is a terrible policy and a devastating blow to Tesla's profits. It's not just about the Cafe — it's about duties, consumer credit, tax benefits for manufacturers, charging benefits, and solar energy benefits for private homes. Elon finally woke up, but, as they say, a day late and with a shortfall of one dollar," stated former Tesla CEO Karim Busta.
The day before, the House of Representatives of the US Congress passed Trump's "single, big, beautiful" bill on taxes and government spending. 218 congressmen supported the initiative, 214 voted against it. According to the C-SPAN TV channel, the President of the United States will sign the bill on Friday, July 4.
