The German Ministry of Defense is considering the possibility of purchasing 1,000 Leopard 2 main battle tanks and up to 2,500 GTK Boxer armored combat vehicles worth €25 billion as part of NATO's rearmament and strengthening the alliance's defense capabilities. This was reported by Bloomberg on July 4, citing sources.

It is reported that the issue of procurement arose after NATO asked Germany to provide up to seven combat brigades to the alliance over the next 10 years, which should be equipped with new weapons.

At the same time, representatives of the German Ministry of Defense declined to comment on information about possible purchases, as the final issue price may be slightly lower.
