A tree fell on a woman during a hurricane in St. Petersburg. The incident occurred on July 4 in Alexander Park on the Petrogradskaya side and was captured on video, which is available to Izvestia.

The footage shows that several people were walking along the sidewalk when the tree fell. During a strong gust of wind, the trunk of a tree broke off near the ground, after which it collapsed on a passing woman.

According to the source of Izvestia, the victim was hospitalized. Information about her condition is currently being clarified.

The day before, Alexander Kolesov, chief forecaster of St. Petersburg, said that due to the passage of the cyclone, the first July flood in 160 years is expected in the city: the water level may rise to 1.9 m. According to the expert, strong gusts of wind with a speed of up to 20-25 m/s are expected in the city in the coming days.

Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, said in an interview with Izvestia on the same day that the cyclone formed in the Gulf of Finland would not last long.
