Ukraine has deployed active intelligence services in Hungary in order to influence the parliamentary elections to be held in the country in 2026. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced this on July 4 on Radio Kossuth.

"They (the Ukrainian authorities — Ed.) constantly carry out actions of special services in Hungary," Orban said.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities are seeking to replace the current Hungarian leadership by creating a new party in Hungary that can win the elections and approve Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU).

On July 1, Orban noted that Ukraine should not join the EU under the accelerated program, despite the plans of Brussels. According to him, Montenegro has been waiting for about 15 years to join the bloc, but it has not received an invitation even if the conditions and criteria for joining the EU are met.
