Britain's critical position is due to its position on the conflict in Ukraine. Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, said this in an interview with Izvestia on July 4.

This is how he commented on reports that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer faced a "rebellion" from party members before his first anniversary in office, predicting his resignation due to Labor's projected poor election results next year.

"Today, the critical situation is not only for Starmer, but also for most European leaders. This is primarily due to the economic situation of the country and the internal political crisis in which Europe exists today. It is related to the position of these European countries regarding the crisis in Ukraine," the MP said.

Chepa stressed that the foreign policy vector and economic policy of the United Kingdom are leading the country to a crisis, which is not only the result of Starmer's mistakes, but also the general trend of deterioration of the situation in the country.

"If the UK changes its position on the conflict in Ukraine, then perhaps this will play a positive role in solving the problems that exist in the economy today," the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee summed up.

On June 8, TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson called Starmer Britain's biggest problem. According to him, the prospect of the head of government remaining in office for another four years is alarming to him.
