Merkel recalled Trump's refusal to shake her hand

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that US President Donald Trump refused to shake her hand in front of the cameras. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on July 4.

"I made the mistake of saying, 'Donald, let's shake hands,' and he didn't. He wanted to draw attention to himself. That's what he wants: to distract attention and make everyone look at him," she is quoted as saying in the publication.

As noted by "Gazeta.En", we are talking about the meeting between Merkel and Trump, which took place in March 2017.
