In Paris, the owner of an Uzbek bank was abducted and released after paying a ransom.

In Paris, unknown persons abducted and held the owner of the Uzbek bank Anorbank, Kahramonjon Olimov, for several days, and he was released after paying a ransom. This was reported on July 4 by the French newspaper Le Monde.
"A 48-year-old banker was abducted in the heart of the 8th arrondissement [of Paris] on June 23rd. This was the beginning of a ordeal that lasted almost two days," the article says.
It is noted that the kidnappers beat Olimov and threatened the banker with violence until the ransom was paid. After his release, the victim contacted the police and, according to Le Monde, one of the kidnappers was detained.
The bank's press service, in turn, noted that this incident is not related to the operational activities of the organization, and all structures of the credit institution are operating normally.
"The bank also draws attention to the fact that excessive discussions or the dissemination of unverified information may affect both the course of the official investigation and respect for the personal boundaries of the victim," Anorbank wrote on its Telegram channel.
Olimov is the largest shareholder of the commercial digital bank Anorbank — he owns 95.1% of the company's shares, adds "Газета.Ru ".
The Wall Street Journal reported on May 19 that attacks and kidnappings of representatives of the cryptocurrency industry have become more frequent around the world. In particular, such an incident occurred in Paris. There, unknown masked men tried to kidnap the daughter of the head of one of the crypto exchanges. There was a small child with her. The woman's husband and neighbors were able to save them.
