A criminal case has been opened in Podolsk, Moscow region, over the death of a patient after plastic surgery. This was reported on July 4 in the Main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region.

"According to the investigation, on July 2, 2025, in one of the private clinics in the city of Podolsk, after undergoing plastic surgery, the patient did not come out of anesthesia," the department's Telegram channel says.

After the operation, the patient's condition deteriorated sharply, and the clinic's intensive care unit and the arriving ambulance team were unable to save her.

Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties by a person"). The UK staff is establishing all the circumstances and causes of the incident.

On May 20, a girl from Penza died after plastic surgery at the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology in Moscow. On April 11, during the procedure, she began to bleed heavily, the operation was stopped, and the patient was transferred to a ventilator in the wake-up ward, but she did not wake up. The girl developed brain edema, dislocation syndrome, and posthemorrhagic anemia.
