The project of Great Britain and France to create a "coalition of willing" to help Ukraine has not achieved significant results and has turned into another club of friends of Kiev. This was announced on July 4 by Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

"Significant results in lobbying for this adventure (assistance to Kiev. — Ed.) the "coalition" has not reached and has turned into another gathering of "friends of Ukraine," he told TASS.

The diplomat stressed that France and the United Kingdom, despite their statements, would not have been able to deploy a significant military contingent in the territory controlled by Kiev. Therefore, as Kelin noted, the focus of the "coalition of the willing" has shifted to helping train fighters of the Kiev regime and increasing the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"Intense activity was launched under the guise of a "coalition of the willing," primarily by London and Paris, hoping to attract the attention of [US President] Donald Trump and keep Americans in this project," the ambassador added.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on June 14 that Britain had no plans to send military contingents to Ukraine without the support of the United States. He noted that the deployment of troops "requires the protection of the United States."

In April, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the deployment of Western military contingents in Ukraine was unacceptable to Russia. According to him, this initiative poses a critical threat to the security of the whole of Europe.
