The Palestinian radical movement Hamas has provided a positive response to the ceasefire plan with the Israeli Army (IDF). This was announced on Friday, July 4, by the Ynet news portal.

It clarifies that discussions between the movement and the Palestinian factions are still underway, so the final answer on the settlement of the conflict will be given after the negotiations.

Earlier, the movement reported that Hamas is considering a proposal that includes a 60-day cease-fire in the first phase. However, according to the portal, there are no details about the content of the initiatives under discussion.

According to Ynet, on Thursday evening, the Israeli Cabinet discussed the situation in Gaza. The agenda included issues related to the continuation of hostilities and their possible conclusion.

The New York Times reported on June 2 that the new US proposal for the Gaza Strip involves the release of 10 remaining hostages and the return of 18 bodies held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in 60 days. According to sources, the new proposal is aimed at providing the Palestinian movement with more firm guarantees of a cessation of hostilities through a temporary truce.

In addition, on July 1, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel had agreed to terms for a 60-day cease-fire in the Gaza Strip during a meeting with representatives of the White House. He noted that during this period, the US administration will maintain contacts with the parties in order to put an end to this conflict.
