Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump concluded during a telephone conversation that Europe should not participate in negotiations on the Ukrainian conflict. This was reported on July 4 by the Italian newspaper La Stampa.

"The direct Washington—Moscow line also serves this purpose: to cut off, by mutual agreement, the Europeans (from participating in negotiations on the Ukrainian conflict. — Ed.)," the publication says.

It clarifies that Ukraine has found itself in a desperate situation, as Washington no longer shows strategic interest, and European assistance is no longer enough.

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special presidential envoy for economic cooperation with foreign countries, said on July 3 that a new chapter had begun in relations between the United States and Russia after a telephone conversation between Trump and Putin.
