The Moscow Department of Rospotrebnadzor has identified four recreation areas in Moscow where swimming is allowed, and also named places where swimming is prohibited due to the discrepancy between the water quality of reservoirs and sand. Information about this appeared on the agency's website on July 3.

"There are four recreation areas with swimming (out of 14) — Lake Beloe (VAO), Lake Meshcherskoe (CJSC), Pionersky Pond (CAO), Lake Troparevo (Southern Administrative District). In four recreation areas (Levoberezhye (SAO), Dynamo beach (SAO), Golovinsky ponds (SAO), Bolshoy Sadovy Pond (SAO) (under the supervision of the departmental sanitary service of the FMBA of Russia)) Currently, they have been put into operation as recreation areas without the right to swim," the statement says.

In addition, it is noted that swimming in the reservoirs of the four recreation areas Serebryany Bor-2 (NWAO), Serebryany Bor-3 (NWAO), Lake Chernoe (ZelAO) and School Lake (ZelAO) is not recommended, as the indicators obtained during the research do not meet the requirements for microbiological indicators.

The ministry clarified that sports and other leisure activities are allowed in areas where swimming is prohibited, and if the indicators of these places meet the standards again, information about the resumption of swimming in them will be "immediately posted on the website" of the metropolitan Department of Rospotrebnadzor.

On June 27, Daria Ponomareva, a dermatovenerologist at Medscan Hadassah Clinic, urged Russians to swim only in permitted bodies of water to reduce the risk of health problems. She emphasized that one of the common problems is "bather's itch," or cercariosis, which is manifested by itching, redness, and a rash on the skin.
