- The expert recalled the right of Russians to receive sick leave after their dismissal.
Russians can expect to receive sick leave payments if they become ill within 30 days of being fired and have not yet had time to get a new job. Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, recalled this on July 4.
As the specialist explained, upon the onset of illness, the amount of benefits for a employed citizen depends on two factors at once: his average earnings over the past two years and the percentage of coverage established depending on insurance experience.
The percentage of compensation increases in direct proportion to the length of service, the expert continued. So, with less than five years of experience, Russians can count on 60% of average earnings, with five to eight years of experience, the amount of benefits will increase to 80%, and citizens who have worked for more than eight years will receive full payments.
"Temporary disability benefits are also paid in case of dismissal of an employee if he falls ill or is injured within 30 calendar days and has not yet got a new job," the Prime agency quotes him as saying.
Balynin explained that in such cases, temporary disability benefits are calculated at 60% of average earnings, regardless of insurance experience.
Olga Rubleva, an expert at the Synergy University Analytical center, spoke on June 2 about whether she could be given sick leave due to allergies. According to her, doctors issue a disability certificate only in case of severe allergic reactions. In such cases, you can expect to receive compensation.
