Over the past 20 years, the level of Russian GDP has shown faster economic growth in Western countries. This was announced on July 4 by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for economic cooperation with foreign countries.

"Over the past 20 years, Russia has outstripped all Western economies in terms of GDP growth," he wrote on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter), responding to one user's reasoning about the GDP growth of a number of countries from 2003 to 2023.

The head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, said during the plenary session of the Financial Congress of the regulator on July 2 that the adaptation of the Russian economy to external changes had ended. She noted that the Russian economy needed to change its development model and rely on internal sources of financing.
