- The father of the Russian detained in Baku told about the search for his son via the Internet

Igor Bezuglov, the father of Ilya Bezuglov, one of the Russians detained in Baku, told Izvestia about how the family searched for his son via the Internet.
According to Bezuglov, the connection with Ilya was lost after his girlfriend received a strange message from a young man that he was in the courtyard with the police. The relatives had to search for Ilya via the Internet, the only way they could find out that he had been detained.
"We were able to identify our son by his sneakers in the first videos that appeared on the Internet, because his face was completely invisible," Bezuglov said.
The man clarified that Ilya and his girlfriend decided to live in Azerbaijan for several months out of interest in the country. According to him, the couple was officially registered in a rented apartment and had all the necessary documents. The detainee's father also expressed hope that the family would receive an official response and the situation would be resolved soon.
On June 30, Azerbaijani security forces conducted an operation in the office of Sputnik Azerbaijan. On the same day, two Russian journalists were detained in Baku — Igor Kartavykh, the head of the agency's editorial office, and Evgeny Belousov, the editor-in-chief. Then it became known that eight more Russian citizens were detained in Baku. On July 2, the Russian Embassy in Baku reported that Russians had received complaints about the use of physical violence, document checks and visits by unknown persons.
