The United States will impose a 10% customs duty on countries negotiating in good faith with Washington. This was announced on July 3 by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in an interview with Bloomberg TV.

"I think we will see about 100 countries that will just receive the minimum 10% reciprocal duties, and we will move on," he said.

According to Bessent, a "flurry" of US transactions with other countries is expected before July 9.

On July 2, US President Donald Trump announced that he had concluded a trade deal between the United States and Vietnam. The details of the agreement were not reported.
