Political scientist Yuri Svetov expressed this opinion on Thursday, July 3, commenting on a report that the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, had a telephone conversation.

"In fact, this kind of conversation should be a routine that doesn't cause such a stir... These are the people who are responsible for the state of affairs in the world. And when these "gentlemen from Europe" and Biden stopped the dialogue with Russia, who lost from this? The world lost, they lost," the expert said in an interview with RT.

He also praised the courage of Trump, who, in his first term as president, suffered so much "humiliation simply for trying to talk to Russia."

"He could, remembering the whole story, try to hide. And he speaks, he enters into a dialogue. He disagrees with Putin in many ways... but he listens to Vladimir Vladimirovich's position. It is important. A lesson is being taught to these people, who are now leading European countries, how a politician should actually behave," concluded Svetov.
