Sales of new passenger cars in Russia decreased by 27.6% in June%

Last month, 90,116 new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 27.6% less than in June 2024. This was reported to Izvestia by the analytical agency Autostat.

The Russian Lada brand still dominates the market, accounting for about 27% of its share in June, and in quantitative terms - 24,165 copies sold. The leadership among foreign cars is occupied by the Chinese Haval, 9172 cars. On the third line is Chery (8,858 units), followed by Changan (6,388 units) and Geely (6,165 units).

The sixth place is occupied by the Belarusian Belgee with 4,074 cars. This is followed by the Chinese Jetour (3,138 units), the domestic Solaris (2,201 units), as well as the Chinese Omoda and GAC (1,974 and 1,845 units respectively).

Seven of the ten leading brands showed negative dynamics in June. It turned out to be strongest at Omoda — minus 61.3%. Three brands showed growth, among which Solaris showed the best result (+55.9%).

According to the results of the first half of 2025, 530,375 new passenger cars were sold in our country, which is 26.3% less than in the six months of last year.

The Lada Granta family of cars (including those produced on its basis) still dominates in the model rating - 11,521 units in June, which is 28% less than a year ago. Behind them is another VAZ family, Vesta, with 5,871 cars sold (-49.3%).

The Chinese Haval Jolion crossover remained the best foreign car in the country, with 3,606 cars (-48.4%). It is followed by another "Chinese" — the Changan UNI-S / CS55 Plus crossover (3,023 units; -23.2%). The Belgee X50 crossover closes the top 5 (2,713 units; -16.3%).

The positive dynamics in June was shown only by the Largus station wagon, whose sales volume increased by about 60 times due to its low comparative base. The other models presented show a drop, and Geely Monjaro has the strongest drop (-42.3%), Autostat noted.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, said in the Federation Council that discounts on mechanisms to support demand for cars would be increased in order to prevent the market from falling.
