Kaluga began to produce Tenet cars

Production of passenger cars of the Russian brand Tenet has started in Kaluga. This was announced on July 3 by the Governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha.
The governor noted that it is not yet possible to call production serial, since the speed of the conveyor does not reach that required for mass production. At the same time, the plant is gradually increasing its production rate, the head of the region said.
"I think that by the end of July we will already publicly announce this [serial production of Tenet cars], because, in fact, [non—serial] production is already underway, cars are already being produced," Vladislav Shapsha told TASS.
The first production crossover of the new Russian automobile brand Tenet was supposed to be presented to the general public back in June 2025.
On July 3, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that the rate of decline in sales of domestic models remains lower than that of foreign cars. In June, 44.7 thousand imported cars were sold, which is 45% less than in June 2024, and 56.2 thousand cars produced in Russia, which is 12.5% less than in the same period last year.
In six months, 607,478 new cars were sold in the Russian Federation, which is 28% less than last year. During the same period, the market for new cars of domestic production exceeded 333 thousand units, which is 11% less than in January – June 2024. The share of Russian equipment in January – June 2025 increased by 11 percentage points compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported.
