Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump discussed the situation in Iran and the Middle East in general during their telephone talks. This was announced on July 3 by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

"The Russian side stressed the importance of resolving all disputed issues, disagreements and conflict situations exclusively through political and diplomatic means. It was agreed to continue contacts in this regard between the foreign ministries, the Ministries of defense and between presidential aides," he said.
