The Kurchatov Institute Scientific Research Center (SIC) and Rostelecom have signed a cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Scientific Expert Council of the Russian Maritime Collegium, attended by Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute, and Mikhail Oseevsky, President of Rostelecom.

Speaking at the ceremony, Oseevsky noted that Russia has come a long way towards technological sovereignty in three years.

"Technological sovereignty is something in which we can feel quite confident. Probably, this is the hardest path that we have all gone through in three years and are going through now, it is absolutely the right one," stressed the president of Rostelecom.

Kovalchuk, in turn, drew attention to the importance of working with genetic information to ensure the security of the country.

"Genetic information is becoming one of the most important things today. This is our vulnerability or, conversely, our reliability," said the president of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center.

Earlier, in April, the Kurchatov Institute signed a cooperation agreement with the Roscosmos state Corporation. It was signed by Kovalchuk and Dmitry Bakanov, CEO of the state corporation. The parties agreed to establish a Joint Council for Strategic Development. He will ensure the interaction of the state corporation and the scientific center in the main areas of strategic cooperation.
