Russians began to abandon food delivery in favor of self-cooking

Russians are increasingly abandoning delivery and restaurant meals in favor of self-cooking. This conclusion was made by experts from the Röndell company in a study, the results of which appeared on July 4 at the disposal of Izvestia.
According to the survey, 35% of respondents noted that they have recently become more likely to cook at home, and 20% try to visit catering establishments less often. The main reasons for this choice were cost savings (73%) and product quality control (63%).
"The problem with shipping is its high cost. 75% answered that way. The survey participants also noted distrust of the quality and safety of dishes, frequent cases of unsanitary conditions (45% each)," the study says.
Nevertheless, proponents of delivery emphasize its convenience and the opportunity to try new dishes. For a successful return to home cooking, Russians emphasize the importance of free time and a good mood. Olga Pastushenko, brand manager at Röndell, said that modern kitchen accessories can help solve space problems and make the cooking process more enjoyable.
"A small kitchen, lack of good dishes and appliances, and lack of storage space often force people to switch to ready-made food, even if they like and want to cook. Modern dishes and kitchen appliances can solve this problem," she stressed.
Russians have mixed feelings about food delivery: 38% of respondents are distrustful of it because they don't know about the cooking process, 30% are worried about their health due to the high salt and fat content, 13% feel alienated from "not their own" food, and 7% are afraid of losing their cooking skills.
At the same time, 33% consider delivery convenient, 28% appreciate the freedom from the stove, 20% enjoy the opportunity to try new dishes, and another 20% say that it frees up time for other things.
On June 27, Elena Specenko, director of the Roskachestvo Center for Food Safety Competencies, said that it is better not to buy street food in wet weather, as these are ideal conditions for the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms. Trays with open food, such as shawarma, hot dogs and burgers, are particularly dangerous.
