- Kharchenko opened an exhibition dedicated to HER Homeland in the Heart of a Hero in Kursk

In Kursk, within the framework of the federal project "New School", with the assistance of the regional coordinator of the Women's Movement project, a traveling exhibition of artworks "Homeland in the heart of a Hero" dedicated to participants in a special military operation (SVO) from the Kursk region was opened. The event was presented on July 3 by its organizer, Ekaterina Kharchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education.
The exhibition shows 38 works by graduates of Russia's leading creative universities, including paintings and sculptural busts in various techniques depicting military personnel who participated in the military. Among them are portraits of the winners of the Kursk regional project.Heroes!", members of the Association of Veterans of the SVR Yuri Shchegolev and Andrey Pereyaslov, who is also the winner of the preliminary vote of the United Russia party in local government.
All the works were created from nature by the Artists' Association, an association of young professional artists and sculptors working on military—patriotic themes. The curator of the exhibition and the artist of the project, Maria Baranovskaya, noted that art always unites people.
"We decided that the exhibition, illustrating the images and characters of the heroes who are now performing feats, would be relevant and useful to both the younger generation and all of us. Because art has always united people," said Baranovskaya.
Kharchenko added that she met the artist at the Federation Council at the opening of her personal exhibition dedicated to Sevastopol and the Crimean Spring. She was inspired by the stories of the heroes who defended the Kursk region.
"I realized from the very first minute that we are like—minded people. I invited Maria to come to Kursk in order to paint portraits of the veterans of her military who liberated the Kursk land. It is very important for us, the Kuryans, to preserve the historical truth about the events of August 2024 and pass it on to the next generations," the deputy told Izvestia.
The exhibition is supported by the Sosna Charitable Foundation, the Association of Veterans of Special Forces, the OMON Brotherhood, Veterans of the SVO, the ROOI Rusichi Center, and the NGO Let's Do More Together.
