- The EC called the US shutdown of aid to Kiev a signal for increasing supplies from Europe.

The European Union (EU) considers the United States' suspension of ammunition supplies to Ukraine to be a signal for an increase in European supplies. This was announced on July 3 by the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference in Denmark.
"The US decision is a clear signal to the EU countries about the need to increase European supplies," she said, her speech was broadcast on the EC's YouTube channel.
Von der Leyen also called on European countries to take out military loans and purchase weapons under the supervision of the European Commission.
The day before, NBC News reported on the decision of the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, to suspend the supply of dozens of interceptor missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, more than 100 Hellfire missiles and other types of weapons to Ukraine.
According to Bloomberg, European officials were stunned by the US decision, as they "insisted on compensating for the reduction in American aid."
