Cancer Care Center opened in Nadym

An outpatient cancer care center has been opened in Nadym. It became the fourth such institution operating in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.

According to the <url> news agency, with reference to the press service of the district government, three oncologists receive patients at the new center. Doctors' reception rooms, treatment and dressing rooms are concentrated in one place, in the hospital building. Previously, patients were admitted to the department of highly specialized medical care, and the day hospital was located in the surgical department.

In the new center, patients with suspected cancer and with a confirmed diagnosis will receive specialist consultations, undergo examinations, and receive antitumor therapy, including in a day hospital.
Centers like Nadymsky are already operating in Novy Urengoy, Noyabrsk and Salekhard.

Earlier it was reported that Russian specialists are conducting clinical trials of a new test system that allows evaluating the effectiveness of therapy with heavy particles - protons and neutrons — for cancerous tumors in the head and neck before starting treatment. According to oncologists, about half of patients do not get the desired result after these types of exposure to diseased tissues. At the same time, the quota for such therapy is limited, and its cost for one person is about 3.5 million rubles.
