Analysts named the preferred apartment layouts of the younger generation

Modern housing is increasingly moving away from classical concepts of comfort. On July 4, Strana Development shared with Izvestia the results of a survey that shows which premises are really in demand among young people.
According to the study, young people prefer compact apartments. For example, 52% of respondents choose kitchens combined with a living room. This is due to a change in lifestyle, where cooking takes a back seat, and dining areas are used mainly for warming up deliveries and meeting friends.
The bathroom is also becoming an important aspect of modern housing. Almost half of the young people dream of a spacious bathroom. At the same time, 33% of respondents are satisfied with the standard dimensions if high-quality plumbing is installed in the bathroom, and 12% are ready to make do with a shower cabin.
The workplace is also of significant importance for young people: 57% of respondents said it was necessary. Minimalism is preferred in the bedrooms: 46% of respondents are satisfied with a space with only a bed and shelves, while 24% choose more spacious rooms for sleeping and relaxing.
In addition, young people advocate for open spaces.: 41% prefer such layouts, but a third of the respondents still prefer clear zoning. Additional rooms are also becoming popular: 38% of respondents need a dressing room, and 27% need a laundry room.
It is noted that the optimal square footage of an apartment for young people does not exceed 50 square meters, and one in three considers an ideal studio with an area of up to 30 square meters.
On June 26, Valery Tumin, director of the Russian and CIS markets at fam Properties, told Izvestia that the state could compensate part of the rent for young people. A subsidy of up to 75% of the rent was considered, but not more than one minimum wage. However, it is not yet clear whether this mechanism will be applied in the new program and which groups of citizens will be able to receive maximum benefits.
