Two people were arrested after searches at the Tashir Group office in Yerevan, owned by businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan. This was reported on July 3 by Sputnik Armenia agency with reference to the Investigative Committee (IC) of the country in the Telegram channel.

"Two people were arrested after yesterday's searches in the Yerevan office of the Tashir Group of companies. Petitions for arrest have been submitted to the court for two more persons," the agency's Telegram channel says.

The Tashir Group office was searched on July 2. It was clarified that the investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of the criminal case being investigated in the UK.

Karapetyan's detention became known on June 18, he was charged with calling for the seizure of power in Armenia and arrested for two months. Armenian politician Arman Abovyan called the businessman's detention an attempt to weaken the influence of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC).
