The open golf championship has ended in the Moscow region
On July 3, the Moscow Region's open golf championship ended, with 98 athletes taking part, including the country's strongest players.
The golfers competed in three age categories, the youngest participant of the tournament was only 10 years old. The competition took place over two days and was accompanied by difficult weather conditions — strong wind and rain. This forced the athletes to adjust the tactics of the game.
"There is a very small gap between the players, strong wind. I was humming my favorite song all the time and watching my rivals just fall," said the winner of the tournament, Artyom Svergun.
The winners of the championship were awarded with medals and cups. The organizers noted that such tournaments help to develop golf and attract more and more players to it — the number of courses and fans of the game continues to grow.
On May 23, an international golf tournament among schoolchildren was held in the Moscow region. More than 100 children took part in it. The competition was attended by schoolchildren between the ages of eight and 14 who attend school golf classes. It is specified that the younger participants played with plastic clubs for safety reasons, and the older ones with professional equipment.
