Likhachev pointed to Rosatom's leading position in the global nuclear power plant market.

Rosatom's share in the global market of nuclear power plants (NPP), nuclear science and medicine centers exceeds 90%. This was announced on July 3 by Alexey Likhachev, CEO of the state corporation, at a strategic session on personnel training for foreign economic activity of the Russian Federation.

"In terms of exports of nuclear technologies, nuclear power plants, nuclear science and medicine centers, we have more than 90% of the global market," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

In addition, in an interview with reporters, the head of Rosatom touched upon the construction of the Paks-2 nuclear power plant in Hungary. According to him, after the lifting of US sanctions against the Hungarian NPP project, "construction may begin in October-November 2025. The Hungarian government has expressed a desire to begin construction of the station as soon as possible, Likhachev added.

On June 29, Rosatom reported that the United States had decided to withdraw from financial sanctions a number of Russian banks and insurance companies involved in nuclear energy projects, including the construction of the Paks-2 nuclear power plant in Hungary. As explained in the company, this decision will speed up the implementation of the project, which is being implemented jointly with Hungarian partners.
