Ukrainian influence is growing in the United States and Europe. Representatives of Ukraine are trying to convince the administration of US President Donald Trump to restore arms supplies, American political scientist Malek Dudakov told Izvestia on July 3.

He commented on a Bloomberg publication that one of the NATO countries is putting pressure on the Pentagon to reconsider the decision to pause the supply of weapons to Kiev.

According to Dudakov, Ukraine is actively developing a project to purchase American weapons on a commercial basis, using loans from European countries.

"Here you need to understand that this is also a very, very negative scenario for Ukraine, because they will have to wait at the end of the queue when these weapons reach them. That is, first the Americans will replenish their arsenals, then provide weapons to their key allies, such as Israel or Asian countries: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines. And only after that, the weapons will reach Ukraine," he stressed.

The political scientist also added that the Trump administration will continue to focus on other priorities, such as competition with China and confrontation with Iran in the Middle East. In this context, pressure from one of the NATO countries on the Pentagon to reconsider the decision to pause the supply of weapons to Kiev may be ineffective.

NBC News reported on July 2 that the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, decided to suspend the supply of dozens of interceptor missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, more than 100 Hellfire missiles, dozens of Stinger missiles, more than 250 guided precision-guided GMLRS projectiles and other types of weapons to Ukraine. It was clarified that the suspension may last until the assessment of American weapons is completed.
