Due to the passage of the cyclone in St. Petersburg, the first July flood in 160 years is expected, and the water level may rise to 1.9 m. This was announced on July 3 by the city's chief weather forecaster, Alexander Kolesov.

"In connection with <...> the cyclone's trajectory in St. Petersburg is expected to flood. As I have already pointed out, in the entire history of St. Petersburg in July there was only one flood on July 12, 1865," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the expert, strong gusts of wind with a speed of up to 20-25 m/s are expected in the city in the coming days. He stressed that a complex of protective structures (KZS) will be involved.

"Flooding is expected around 6-9 a.m. on July 4, with the maximum possible flood water rise to 170-190 cm," Kolesov added.

On May 30, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Irkutsk region reported that at least 47 household plots were flooded in the region due to the sudden melting of snow in the upper reaches of the Baikal Range. It is specified that residential buildings were not damaged.
