The Verkhovna Rada criticized the United States for suspending arms supplies to Kiev.
The suspension of arms supplies to Kiev from the United States is like an "attack" on Ukraine. This was announced on July 3 by Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko.
According to him, it was obvious that the new administration of US President Donald Trump would reduce support for Ukraine. However, the Ukrainian authorities still had hope for US help because of the signed mineral deal.
"As a result, we signed all the agreements, and the result is that our arms supplies are being reduced," Kostenko said on Radio NV, which was broadcast on the YouTube channel.
In addition, Kostenko called on Europe to help Ukraine more, as some of the US weapons can be replaced. He also suggested that now no one will help Ukraine for free.
"The logistical assistance that the previous administration [Joe Biden] provided to us for free. We have problems here right now. And as I understand it, no one wants to transfer anything to us anymore," he said.
Yesterday, The Washington Post reported that Ukrainian officials were at a loss after the unexpected decision of the United States to suspend the supply of ammunition for air defense systems to Kiev.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented, the suspension of United States supplies of ammunition to Ukraine means not only Washington's shortage of them, but also the hope for a faster end to the special military operation (SVO).
