Two employees of the Irkutsk city hospital, who were attacked by a patient, were seriously injured. A source told Izvestia about this on Thursday, July 3.

"Both women have stab wounds to their throats, they are in intensive care," the source said.

According to him, the attacker had previously threatened the doctors at this hospital. He was sent for examination to a neuropsychiatric dispensary, but the specialists decided that the man did not pose a threat. In addition, he was brought to administrative responsibility for minor hooliganism.

An attack by a patient with a knife on the medical staff of a hospital in Irkutsk was reported earlier that day. The patient attacked the staff — the deputy chief physician and the secretary - with a knife and a gas canister. The women were hospitalized in serious condition. A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder of two or more persons").
