- The media predicted a reckoning for Ukraine due to Trump's refusal to supply weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ukraine may face a "grim reckoning" due to the decision of US President Donald Trump to suspend arms supplies to Kiev. This was reported on July 3 by the British Economist magazine.
The publication notes that since coming to power, Trump has not announced new arms supplies for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Reports of the recent cessation of transfers of American weapons, as specified, may indicate that the United States decided to stop supporting Kiev earlier than planned.
"Ukraine is facing a grim reckoning: the fewer weapons it gets, the more people and territories it will lose," the Economist emphasizes.
The publication recalled that a similar situation arose after a quarrel between Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky during talks in Washington. At that time, she briefly stopped supplying weapons and cooperating in the field of intelligence.
"The Pentagon presents the interruption as a limited and temporary measure. But Ukrainian officials suspect a more concerted effort by the Trump administration to squeeze political concessions out of Ukraine.
On July 2, NBC News reported on the decision of Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth to suspend the supply of dozens of interceptor missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, more than 100 Hellfire missiles, dozens of Stinger missiles, more than 250 guided precision-guided GMLRS projectiles and other types of weapons to Ukraine.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the suspension of supplies means not only Washington's shortage of ammunition, but also the hope for a faster end to the conflict in Ukraine.
