Despite the cool June, the demand for trips to warmer countries has hardly changed. This was announced on Wednesday, July 2, by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), citing data from travel companies.

According to experts, in an interview with aif.ru The cold weather added no more than 3% to seasonal sales of tours abroad.

At the same time, due to rains, storms and unheated seas, interest in the Black Sea resorts, especially Sochi, has noticeably decreased. Fewer tourists came even from neighboring regions.

According to ATOR Vice President Sergey Romashkin, high prices have become an additional factor in reducing demand. At the same time, Crimea shows an increase in bookings — vacations there are on average 5-10% cheaper than in similar hotels in the Krasnodar Territory.

ATOR added that the situation may change in July: warming is expected, and tour operators are already offering discounts of up to 55%. If summer weather does not set in the regions, bookings for the velvet season may increase in August, the website writes kp.ru .

ATOR reported on July 1 that the number of bookings in Crimea for July-August increased to 40%. Crimea is one of the top 5 most popular domestic destinations, second only to Krasnodar Krai in terms of bookings. In the summer season of 2024, Crimea was in sixth place in terms of sales.

On June 30, the association reported that Turkey became the most popular destination for Russian tourists in July. 35% of domestic travelers will go there. Russian destinations are in second place (18.4% of tourists), Egypt closes the top three with 15.4%. Abkhazia, Vietnam, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Maldives, China and Cuba also entered the TOP 10.

Expert Aleksan Mkrtchyan said on June 27 that St. Petersburg remains the leader among Muscovites among all tourist destinations at any time of the year. When getting there, tourists equally prefer planes, trains and private cars, Moscow 24 reports.
