The CIA found violations in the intelligence report on Russia's role in the 2016 elections

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States, when analyzing the work of intelligence on alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election, revealed a number of violations and did not rule out that the assessment on this issue could be politically motivated. The relevant report was published on the agency's website.

"A review of the CIA's analytical department revealed numerous procedural anomalies in the preparation of the CIA's work, including severely short deadlines for this work, strict division into departments, and excessive involvement of agency managers," the document says.

This, as it is specified, led to deviations from the standard practice of intelligence activities.

The analysis should be "independent of political considerations" and "should not be distorted or shaped to promote a specific audience. <...> This accelerated process created a vulnerability and revealed potential bias during the investigation," the text says.

At the same time, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, commenting on the report to the New York Post (NYP), noted that the investigation into alleged Kremlin interference in the election of the head of the White House was initially initiated by former President of the United States Barack Obama.

"The review showed that on December 6, 2016, six weeks before the end of his presidency, Barack Obama ordered an assessment, which concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin 'sought' to help Trump win the election," he said.

This, as Ratcliffe emphasized, was a manipulation that silenced all professionals and slowed down the entire process.

U.S. Army Colonel Douglas McGregor, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson on March 12, pointed to the subversive activities carried out by the CIA and because of which the United States risks being drawn into a confrontation with a significant part of the world.
