The French General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) has asked airlines to cancel 40% of flights on Friday, July 4, due to a strike by air traffic controllers at Paris airports. This was reported on July 2 by TF1 TV channel.

"Airlines are forced to cancel 40% of their flights departing or arriving from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports on Friday, on the eve of the summer holidays, due to the strike of air traffic controllers," the publication says.

According to the TV channel, mass protests by air traffic controllers are expected on July 4 and 5. Earlier, the Unsa-Icna and USAC-CGT unions called for strikes due to "structural understaffing," "failed technical projects," and "a severely deteriorated social context."

The Milliyet newspaper reported on June 29 that Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport in Turkey had temporarily stopped operations due to wildfires raging in the province. It was clarified that the harbor had suspended the reception and departure of flights due to the ongoing forest fire, smoke and the work of fire aircraft.
