Callas told Wang Yi about the EU's readiness to cooperate with China

The head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, informed the Chinese Foreign Minister about the commitment of the European Union (EU) to cooperation with China. This was announced on July 2 on the website of the EU Foreign Policy Service.
"Callas reaffirmed the EU's commitment to constructive engagement with China to address global challenges," the statement said.
Also during the talks in Brussels, the head of the European Diplomacy called on China to "reduce the imbalance in mutual trade" and lift restrictions on exports of rare earths to the EU.
It is clarified that during the meeting, Callas pointed out to Wang Yi the alleged cases of human rights violations in China and the threat that China, in her opinion, poses to Europe.
Georgy Ostapkovich, director of the HSE Center for Economic Studies, said on April 17 that due to the consequences of US President Donald Trump's trade policy for Europe, the formation of an economic alliance between the EU and China in response to US actions is possible. He noted that the actions of the United States could push the EU towards rapprochement with China.
