In the Leningrad region, a local resident tried to hide at a police station after stealing a phone from a passerby. This was announced on July 2 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk in her Telegram channel.

It is noted that the police received a message that an unknown man approached a resident with a knife in the city of Kudrovo, and then took away his mobile device under threat of violence. Later, law enforcement officers detained the attacker, who climbed over the fence into the territory of the police department.

Volk clarified that a criminal case is currently being considered against the defendant. During the interrogation, the man admitted his guilt in the incident.

On May 29, it was reported that a previously convicted Chita resident stole a smartphone from a 12-year-old girl who lost it in a minibus. A criminal case was opened against the kidnapper under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Theft".
