One third of young Russians believe that practical skills are more important than a diploma when applying for a job. This was announced on Wednesday, July 2, by researchers from the Level Group.

In conversation with Lenta.Ru They noted that 35% of the respondents focus on experience rather than education. At the same time, the majority — 47% — primarily look at the salary level when choosing a job. Only 8% go to a place where they can gain experience quickly, while only 3% are guided by the company's values and mission.

Every fifth graduate is ready to start a career from a low position and chooses jobs that do not require experience. Another 13% remain in the companies where they completed internships.

Among other findings of the study: 41% of respondents choose a high salary, even if the profession is not prestigious, and 37% are willing to receive less, but work in a high—status field - for example, in IT, law, finance or creative industries.

Earlier on July 2, it was reported that over 70,000 ninth graders had completed a comprehensive career guidance program at the Professions of the Future Center this academic year. At the center, students receive a high-quality start for their own development and learn about the real situation of the labor market, the Moscow City News agency notes. At the same time, since the creation of the career guidance program, 130,000 people have visited it, writes Moscow 24.

In June, expert Ekaterina Bolotova, in an interview with RT, called artificial intelligence (AI) a powerful tool for changing the labor market. According to the analyst, modern technologies and neural networks do not replace humans, but relieve them of routine, allowing them to focus on more complex and creative tasks. 360.ru .

Also in June, a study by the Russian School of Management (RSHU) showed that AI is rapidly entering the professional lives of Russians: almost half of the respondents (48%) are already using AI tools in their work. According to a study by analysts, AI's popularity has almost doubled in a year — in 2024, only 27% of specialists used it.
