The son of businessman Ikram Hajiyev, who was killed by members of the Ural criminal group in Yekaterinburg in 2011, expressed hope that those responsible for his father's death would be punished.

According to him, in 2011, his sister informed him that his father had been shot. The victim underwent two operations, and for four days doctors fought for his life. However, it was not possible to save his father. He added that even after 15 years, he does not understand why someone would want to kill him, because his father was a respected man.

"I'm waiting, watching, and I really want the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation to come and help me. Just let the one who is to blame be punished. <...> I am looking forward to understanding who needed it and why it was necessary," Sakhavat told Izvestia.

In his opinion, after 15 years, justice has prevailed, as the suspects in this contract killing have been arrested.

On June 28, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced that an ethnic criminal group had been suppressed in the Sverdlovsk region, whose members are suspected of a number of murders and attempted murders in recent years. According to investigators, people from Azerbaijan, who are citizens of the Russian Federation, are involved in crimes in Yekaterinburg committed in 2001, 2010 and 2011.

Later, in Yekaterinburg, law enforcement officers also detained the leader of the Azerbaijani diaspora, Shahin Shikhlinski. Currently, eight defendants have been arrested in the case of the Ural organized criminal group.
