US President Donald Trump may intervene in a new conflict in the Middle East if politically necessary. This was reported on July 2 by Bloomberg with reference to columnist Hal Brands.

"Thus, Trump joins a long bipartisan line of presidents who have tried and failed to deprioritize the Middle East. This is probably not the last time he will send forces there," the article says.

According to the newspaper, if Iran quickly restores its nuclear program, another conflict may occur in a few weeks or months. At the same time, "it is foolish to think that the United States will leave the Middle East alone," given that American intervention will be "expensive" for the countries.

Earlier in the day, political analyst Ivan Mezyuho told Izvestia that the American leader was seeking to act as a peacemaker in the Middle East conflict. He clarified that Trump has been trying to do this for a long time in various directions, being active both in the Ukrainian military crisis and in the military confrontation between India and Pakistan.
